About Kittens

I forgot to mention the five kittens and one adult cat in my last post. Last year we got a female cat to eat the mice, and earlier this year she went into heat. She had a kitten - yes, a kitten, because it was her first time. He is a really cute cat, but Paisley wasn't supposed to have any kittens! So we were going to watch her to see when she was in heat again so we could lock her up, but one day, lo and behold, she was pregnant again! This time she had four kittens; three boys and a girl. We don't have any pictures of them because our camera is broken, but there is a black one with a wite spot on his chin, an orange-striped one, a sort of tan-and-brown striped little shrimp, and the girl looks like she's going to be a long-hair cat. They are all multi-coloured, exept for the little ginger. Well, yesterday they were old enough to leave home, so a couple of ladies came and picked up little ginger kitten. Poor Paisley is worried to death, looking around for him and mewing pitifully. I feel bad for her.

Mama is wanting to keep the girl, and we had already dicided to keep the first, Ransom. Of course Ransom is going to be smarter than his mother, growing up outside with his mother, unlike the way she was brought up. His younger siblings are going to be even smarter than him, having an older brother along with their mother to help bring them up, and other siblings. And they were born outside, so I tried my best to be sure they stayed out a whole lot. They were sleeping outside almost from the very begining, too.

I got back from my grandmother's last week, and am very happy to be home again.

The shrimp was named T. S. Kittens. The girl was named Seizaburou, but mostly called Sei, or Sei-chan. Deuteronomy is the name of the black one, but I mostly call him 'The Doodle kitty', or 'Doodle Cat.' Sei got hit by a car, Kittens disappeared.
